  • Low sensitivity.

Disadvantages of INSTANT whitening in the cabinet:

  • Higher cost due to advanced technology.
  • Results may be unpredictable depending on age, hereditary factors and color depth.
  • It is not a permanent solution. After a while, teeth again begin to accumulate colorations and the treatment must be retaken.

What type of colorations is best eliminated through INSTANT treatment in the cabinet?

  • Age-driven
  • Food pigmentation
  • Nicotine pigmentations

Colorations resistant to whitening in the cabinet:

  • Those provoked by inorganic substances (non-food).
  • Those produced by traumatisms which create very deep fissures in the tooth or colored fracture lines.
  • Stains caused by tetracycline, can be removed only partially.
  • White stains caused by excessive fluorine (fluorosis).

  • You present dental sensitivity and gum problems. In this case our specialists recommend you to choose whitening treatment at home with lower-concentration substances in order to avoid the increase of hypersensitivity.
  • Major esthetic problems where only facets or dental crowns can solve the problem.
  • Your teeth have grown transparent in time

HOME whitening treatment offered to the patient

  • Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening - what is it and how is it done?

STEP 1: consultation and execution of splints (in the cabinet)

The dentist will take a print of your teeth based on which the dental technician shall execute a gypsum model representing the copy of your teeth and gums. This model will serve to the manufacture of plastic splints (flexible and transparent) with especially designed reservoirs in front of each tooth for the whitening gel. These are perfectly adapted to the form of teeth and gums with the objective of maintaining the whitening gel on the enamel, avoiding the leaks on gums which can inflame in contact with the gel.

Necessary time: 30 minutes.

STEP 2: teeth preparation and whitening (in the cabinet)

You will come back to the dentist for a new session when your teeth will be prepared for the whitening treatment so that dental surfaces are “ open to the action of carbamide peroxide ”.

  • Dental surfaces will be brushed with a roller brush and with special paste (professional brushing).
  • A desensitizing substance will be applied on dental surfaces in order to prevent sensitivity during treatment (desensitizing pastes).

STEP 3: actual whitening during the night

You will take splints home and use the whitening gel offered by the dentist (carbamide peroxide 15 %) for aproximately 4 -5 nights. The dentist will explain you how to use the whitening gel and how to fill splints:

  • Filling the splints with whitening gel.
  • Placement over dental arcades in appropriate position.
  • Verification of gel in excess
  • Maintaining gel splints approximately 7 hours a day.
  • Splints are washed under strong water jet after each application.

You will regularly visit the dentist each two days in order to monitor treatment results.

Advantages of whitening AT HOME during nighttime:

  • Lower gel concentration prevents increased post-treatment sensitivity
  • Safety. Done under the regular monitoring of the dentist
  • Long term results are extremely favorable
  • Lower cost

Disadvantages of whitening AT HOME during nighttime:

  • Longer duration as compared to whitening in the cabinet
  • Treatment results do not appear instantly
  • It is not a permanent solution. After a while, teeth again begin to accumulate colorations and the treatment must be retaken.
